The class was wonderful…the events leading up to the class was HORRID!
I left work right on time and knew that I would get to class early enough to look around Michaels and shop a little…so I thought. First I got off at the wrong exit …the Airport exit at that…WTF? Anyone who has driven to the airport knows THERE IS NO WAY OUT!!!! once I realized what I had done I was pissed, WAIT it gets worst as I was appraoching the toll booths at the exit to leave the Airport, I noticed the traffic was already getting backed up…DAH it’s after 5:30p.m. what was I thinking, then I notice that my gas light is on, WTF? wait, it gets worst….I breezed through 93 north and got to my desired exit…now I’m on a hunt for a damn gas station…LITERRALY…I drove and drove, turned here and there NO DAMN GAS STATION, WTF??? I’m yelling out the window to other cars…Get the F$%^ out of my way, I have no gas ! lmao…..people were looking at me like I was crazy. After about what seemed like 20 minutes of searching and sitting in unavoidable traffic I FOUND A GAS STATION…Hip Hip Hooray!
Finally I get to the class, I’m only a few minutes early but that’s okay, I hate to be late for anything.
Class was awesome….the previous week, we were asked by the instructor to bring in a cake with a crumb coat…using the Wilton Frosting recipe which I hate =( but none the less I used it anyway. I made a vanilla cake using a recipe that I found on Bakeralla’s blog (LOVE HER!) http://bakerella.blogspot.com/ the recipe is delicious and the cake comes out really moist.
In class we learned how to pipe dots and letters (tip #3) stars (tip #67) lots of fun….these are things that I have done lots of times however I am far from perfection…will keep trying! then we frosted our cakes with a final coat using the remainder of the Wilton frosting and used the piping tchniques that we learned to decorate the cake. Because I am such a perfectionist I spent so much time making my cake look smooth that I didn’t get much time for decoration. Check out pics of the finished product
